SHOP PAY INSTALLMENTS FAQ

Are there any additional costs?

Depending on the installments option that you choose for your order, interest rates from 0-36% APR might apply (where available and subject to country, state, or provincial regulatory limitations). Aside from interest rates, there are no additional charges or late fees.

Does using Shop Pay Installments impact credit score?

Creating a Shop Pay Installments account doesn’t impact your credit score. If you choose to pay for your order using Shop Pay Installments, then the following things might impact your credit score or rating:

  • Making a purchase.
  • Your payment history with Affirm.
  • How much credit has been used, and how long you’ve had credit.

What happens if I return an item paid for using Shop Pay Installments?

If your refund amount is less than the amount remaining on your Shop Pay Installments balance, then you can expect one or both of the following:

  • A smaller payment balance on the final payment.
  • Less future payments on the remaining loan balance.

If your refund amount is more than the amount remaining on your Shop Pay Installments balance, then you can expect to receive the difference as a refund to your original payment method. If you request a refund for an order you've made monthly payments for, then your paid interest isn't refunded. Interest is the cost of borrowing, and isn't refundable.

Can I edit an order paid with Shop Pay Installments?

No, you can't edit orders that were paid for using Shop Pay Installments. If you need to make changes to an order, then you will have to be refunded on the original order and create a new one.

What happens if I want to add an item to an existing order?

If you add an item to an existing order made using Shop Pay Installments, then an invoice is created for the outstanding balance and sent to you. You will need to pay for the outstanding balance in full using a different payment method because additional invoices aren't supported by Shop Pay Installments.

Which payment methods are accepted?

Shop Pay Installments is available for purchases made using a credit (United States and Canada) and debit card (United States, Canada, United Kingdom). Capital One and Chase credit cards aren't accepted. Your customers that choose a monthly payment option can only pay with a debit card.
